Windows multiboot manipulation
If you had installed windows vista on the first partition before install Leopard (on the same disk). 3 other ways for dual booting vista , windows 2008 and windows 7 with mac , assuming that windows is installed first , actually I have a trible booting , first windows 2008 , second windows 7 and last mac:
1) put in windows installation cd in the drive,
then choose language,
do not click install-click repair disk.
go to command prompt-write "diskpart" and enter, all without quotations
then "list disk", enter "select disk 0"(wherever windows boot files are installed , the 100 mb first partition, reserved by system), enter,
then "list part", enter,"select part 1"(the partition of windows boot files) enter,
"active", enter, then "exit" the diskpart, "exit" the command prompt.
go to repair disk, you will see a bar going from left to write, once is done
it will ask you to restart(because windows startup is now fixed), do not restart.
go back to command prompt, entering diskpart repeating all the steps
but this time, selecting where iatkos S3 is installed, mark that partition
active, then restart.
2) repair your Windows 7 boot loader,
Insert the Windows 7 installation DVD,
at the first installation screen select your language etc, and at the second screen select "repair computer". boot in Windows 7, and unhide your hidden 100MB partition:
1. In disk management, assign a drive letter for your 100MB hidden partition.
2.Download EasyBCD and add a new boot entry, select MacOS ......... , Add, Save. That's it.
You can now have dual boot with Windows 7 and OSX.
3. Use vista dvd, boot the dvd, go to repair my computer, then click next, go to command prompt and write this:
diskpart
select disk 0 (check if you installed onto disk 0)
select partition 1 (check if this is really the partition containing windows boot files)
active
exit
bootrec /rebuildbcd (this will make windows boot, but osx will dissapear from boot menu, use easybcd to add snow leopard to windows boot menu)
If you installed vista AFTER Leopard, then you have to install EASYBCD for windows vista and do the same as XP, add a entry for OSX as generic x86, save changes.
If you want OSX bootloader to take care of everything after repair Vista bootloader, go into diskpart again , but this time, make active the OSX partition, now everything will work as expected.
